Blues Run the Game

cover · 2018
Jackson C. Frank cover.

Lemon Bus

original · loop · 2012
I'm surprisingly proud of this little song I wrote years ago. I was in a bit of a difficult situation, but I went to the park, wrote the song, lyrics, arrangement, everything. And recorded the whole thing the same day. Even the video.

The Wait

original · July 2013
I should really go back and record this properly. I love this song. Completely out of keeping for me as a songwriter. But I like these biographical storytelling styles of songs. I should play the mandolin more. It spills over nicely because the instrument is strung in fifths, like a viola, so the knowledge helps me improve on the viola as well, without having the difficulty of intonation because it's fretted.

Looping little things

improv · loop · 2010
I used to do this song a lot to open gigs. It really used to get attention. Although maybe a bit too seamy. I suppose that's always the danger of looping tunes, isn't it?
05.

Deamon Tongue

original · 2012
Again, this deserves to be recorded properly.

Sleeping by myself tonight

cover · 2011
I used to house it for this incredible guy called Tony, who was a pilot in the second world war. This was in his house, playing his instrument, his harp in the background. Honestly I don't remember why I recorded this cover. It was obviously important at the time somehow.
